Clover Tour 2016
They say time passes quickest when your enjoying something. That's exactly what happened here. Yet another Tour successfully defended by us. Made so much easier with such a great group of guys and management.
Clover Tour 2016 only consisted out of 5 stages this year, unlike previous years. Its definitely been one of the easier editions but one closely contested as our Team Tactics did not go as planned on day one. Definitely made it much more fun though, thanks to Clinty and Kent.
The ITT has always been one of my favorite disciplines. Its such a hard, mental battle. Trying to get every drop of water out of the glass. Making sure you left nothing in the tank. I managed to get back in the lead by a mere second, but it was enough.
The following day started with a Hill climb the morning up Kowyns Pass and a few laps of gods Window the afternoon. Kent showed us what really lies deep inside of him with glimpses of his talent showing winning the hill climb in an impressive time. The afternoon stage proved much easier with All of the work being done by Brad and Mornay. Neil Robinson put in solid sprint to take honors on stage 3b for ProTouch Sports.
The 4th and final stage of the 2016 edition was by far the easiest route with the exception of gods window in the final 15km. Nothing really happened throughout the stage with Brad controling like none other can. This truly makes our jobs so much easier almost to the point of feeling guilty. Man of the match definitely goes to our Captain on the road. Massive thanks Brad.
Midway throughout the stage Mitchell Elliot had to abandoned due to a nasty crash after coliding with a pothole. Our best wishes and thoughts are with him. Speedy Recovery.
On the final climb up gods window Mornay put on the pressure to set us up for yet another stage win. On the final kilometer of the Climb I rode away with Kent Main and Nico Bell. Kent Main did the perfect leadout for me to secure the stage Victory for us with Nico Bell coming in second.
